REVIEWER "NAILS IT" - LOVE IS A BLOOD SPORT!
Kelsey Zukowski, reviewer-in-residence for the print side of HMF couldn't stand the "ralkies" havin' all the fun, so she whipped out her "fine-toothed comb" to pick us apart, and Whew, liked what she saw - surgically probing the heart of "the kiss" for the bigger, more dangerous and scary themes. We were blown away by her thoroughness and excited that we resonated with our core audience. Some highlights of her review:
"The film opens up with a dark stone-like look, creating a very cold tone. This tone continues through out the rest of the film. It is not a warm hearted love that is depicted, but a withdrawn yet intense and even life threatening love. This mix of lusting and violence is displayed with dark tones contrasted with a vibrantly lively red, a foreshadowing of the blood shed that will occur and the hearts that will either be toyed with. or connected. The violence exerted in the film is the result of revenge, survival, and immortality. Having the invisibility and ultimate control over anyone who threatens you or your way of life is a powerful thing. This ability makes a person become the thing that horrifies and repulses them the most in a very animalistic way. The film questions the meanings of love, whether it is truly there, just another means of deception and a result of the hunt, or a way to gain some sense of living. The Kiss uses a well developed back story and stylistic visuals to expose a relationship deriving in a desire to live youthfully forever through lust, love, or simply to prey on the luscious and bountiful blood that it offers."

AUDIENCE FAVORITE AT LAKE ARROWHEAD FILM FESTIVAL
Long regarded as the "Hollywood Getaway Spot", Lake Arrowhead in the Southern California mountains has enjoyed a fruitful relationship with the Hollywood film world. A-list actors and craftsmen literally call this resort "home" and the festival, embarking on its tenth year has been a favorite fest fo rhte first time directors - Actress Helen Hunt and writer Scott Madden both made their directorial debuts during the fest. It was standing room only as word spread quickly and sold out six hours before its screening, turning people away - Producer Ron Feuer convinced the Fire Marshall that safety and fun could be maintained and an additional 25 people were allowed to sit on the floors (as standing room had already been filled). The response was incredible and after the show buzz continued throughout the weekend with Festival host Chris MacDonald quipping "... the theatre was bursting at the seams - this is one to watch!"

GETS KUDOS FROM THE KUZUI's
Director of the feature "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and Executive Producer of the television series Buffy and the spinoff "Angel" Fran Kuzui sent these congratulations
Congratulations on the premiere of "The Kiss". Someone once told us that to make a film requires patience and perseverance. Heck, it takes more than that. You need talent, luck and lots of support. Sounds like Lakshmi rained all of that down on you this time. May an abundance of good fortune continue for you and your team. May the gods of Cinema blow good reviews your way. May the audience get what they deserve -- a rollicking good time. And may the popcorn always be fresh. Vampire movies are tricky to make. For one thing, they require a lot of night shooting. Then there's all that blood. And to make matters worse, you have to make sure the film doesn't suck while making sure that it does. Thanks for letting us have a peek at the film before the premiere. You've done a mar*val*les job. It's a fabulous, fun movie and we give it two fangs up!!!
Lots of love, Fran and Kaz Kuzui
